Avocado-Lime Bean Dip


Loving white beans, loving avocados, loving garlic, and loving lime. So, yes, it’s probably been done, but I did it today because I craved the flavors.

After serving this to my 15 month old as baby food, my husband complained of garlic on her breath. I said, hey, it’s good for her. Cold prevention at its best. It’s in the garlic! —A compound called allicin, responsible  for the amazing health benefits garlic offers.


This can be used as a spread for sandwiches or as a dip for nachos, cucumbers, or peppers, or whatever else you like.


1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled

3/4 cup cooked small white beans

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1/2 teaspoon cumin

Dash sea salt ( I like RealSalt by Redmond)

Juice from 1/2 lime

1/2 teaspoon dried or 1-2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (divided)


Using a magic bullet or food processor, combine avocado, beans, garlic, water, oil, cumin, salt, lime juice, and half the cilantro. Process until fairly smooth. Scoop into a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining cilantro (or you could use parsley like I did ).
