The crunch, the mapley sweetness, the versatility, the almost unexplained phenomenon that it can be eaten anytime of day without guilt, the (ok, here’s the behind the scene lure:)way to deliciously package a cheap grain and charge up to $6 for it, the way to get folks to buy yogurt by including a tablespoon of cheaply made granola.
Granola, like any other food can be made creatively and with care; oh, and very inexpensively.
This granola captures the health of the foods from which it is made: the enzymes, the spices that support health and digestion, complimentary fruit that contains important nutrients. The regular consumption of cooked and over cooked foods-as granola often is–compromises digestion causing the body to work hard to produce digestive enzymes. The raw food movement is all about this–eating live foods, unheated and full of easily digestible nutrients to support health and longevity.
